The emergency shelter begins operations as the Wheatland Community Crisis Society (WCCS)!
The Wheatland Community Crisis Society operates out of the community’s old firehouse.
Wheatland Community Crisis Society receives support from Siksika Nation; the beginning of partnership.
Wheatland Community Crisis creates new program to “reach out” into the community.

To celebrate 30 years of service, the Wheatland Crisis Society rebrands with a name that reconnects the community to the organization’s mission of supporting survivors to rediscover their true north.
The True North Society is born.
To commemorate their relationship, Siksika Nation and True North sign a Memorandum of Understanding that agrees to continue to collaboratively work together and support Indigenous survivors of violence.
True North Society announces plans for Finding Your True North: affordable housing and wellness hub project. This innovative project aims to bridge the gap between emergency shelter and long-term sustainability for survivors of violence.
True North Society receives Purple Ribbon award for Outstanding Local Organization.
