Spring Tea & Fashion Show Fundrasier
Thank you for joining us for this year’s Spring Tea Fundraiser in the spirit of community, fun, and advocacy.
All funds raised from the tea are put towards True North’s programming and emergency shelter services that work to prevent relationship violence, mitigate the effects of violence, and provide safety to those who need it most.
The Spring Tea is our opportunity to honour both our mothers – the strong, matriarchal loved ones in our lives – as well as the women we know and love who have experienced intimate partner violence.
Domestic violence is a gender-based crime; according to Statistics Canada women and girls account for 68% of all individuals who experience family violence and 78% of intimate partner violence.
And while that may sound hopeless, organizations like True North, with your support, make a difference every day.
As of October 2024, we have served over three thousand and eight hundred people with safety programing. In our last fiscal year, 85% of survivors transitioned out of shelter with a safety plan. In our preventive education program, nearly 90% of youth learned new things about relationship safety!
The impact True North makes in our community is a group effort and couldn’t be possible without advocates, supporters, and donors like you.
